Welcome

JUC Writing 001 Course Blog

A warm and friendly welcome to all of my students in this JUC Writing 001 course. My name is Mrs. Josefina R Santos and I am your course instructor.

Each week you will be asked to study a post on this course blog. As much as possible, posts will include instructional videos, written text, and other information to help you study English writing. Please watch the videos and study the information in the posts then follow the instructions for your weekly course blog writing assignment.

Please note: You are required to post comments every week.  This course blog is 10% of your final grade.

It is my sincere hope that all students in this course will have the opportunity to achieve their best and learn how the basic foundation techniques of writing academic English essays. Should you need any help with any matter regarding this course, please feel comfortable to speak with me and I will do everything possible to assist you.

Writing Basics Review

Basic Essay Formulas   

While there are no magic potions that will instantly turn you into a fabulous writer, able to ace any academic assignment, there is a set of basic essay formulas that will serve you well when writing many types of academic essays and responses to essay-type questions. These formulas represent the underlying structure of the expository essay formula--introduction, body, conclusion--and should be seen as a sort of skeleton on which good writers can build.
